SLOG® is a residential slab and footing design program for Professional Engineers who want a fast, easy and convenient method of analysis of the soil structure interaction of footing on reactive (or expansive) soils.
SLOG® is an updated software package from the 1980’s FORTRAN SLOG® for the design of footings on expansive soil. The software is for the analysis of the soil structure interaction of footing on reactive (or expansive) soils.
SLOG® is used for analysing residential stiffened rafts, strip footings and waffle rafts in accordance with the AS 2870-2011 “Residential slabs and footings” design procedure by engineering principles. The analysis uses the ‘Mitchell Method’ as stated in Section 4 and Appendix F of AS 2870-2011.
The computer program SLOG® is for the analysis of the soil structure interaction of footing on reactive (or expansive) soils.
Three different footing types are able to be designed; and the designer can choose whether SLOG determines the footing depth with the minimum amount of reinforcing steel to meet the stiffness requirement of AS 2870 – 2011 clause 4.4 (e), the strength requirement of clause 4.4 (d) and the ductility requirement of clause 4.4 (f), or alternatively the designer can input the amount of steel reinforcement, and SLOG will determine the required footing depth, warning the designer if the steel isinsufficient to meet strength and ductility requirements.
